About Us
Azabache Films is a video production company, founded in 2008 in Mozambique and then in Italy in 2014 by the Argentine director Fabian Ribezzo.
Always sensitive to civil and human rights issues, we produce animations, documentaries, and fiction for a wide range of clients, such as European Union, UNICEF, United Nations, Italian Cooperation, Handicap International, ILO in addition to various international NGOs.
Azabache Films has been rewarded by winning 31 Awards in International Film Festivals.
The educational animated videos Sometimes the river and The Change won 9 International prizes. The Change was selected by Redcat International Children’s Film Festival 2013 and screened at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles.
With the fictional short film A Tropical Sunday, filmed in Mozambique, we specifically dealt with Art. 31 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child: the right of children to play. The film won the Best Drama Award at the Aspen Shortsfest 2014, qualifying for entry the selection for the Oscars 2015, and was distributed worldwide
